New Kia Optima will look like stylish Kia StingerAugust 22, 2019
A prototype of a new generation of South Korean mid-size Kia Optima sedan was seen in Death Valley (a nature reserve in the United States). The novelty will borrow some design elements from the stylish fastback Kia Stinger.
Despite the fact that according to current trends in the automotive market, crossovers, SUVs and trucks are becoming increasingly popular, some brands are in no hurry to remove sedans from their price lists. The South Korean brand Kia is preparing to introduce a completely new generation of the Optima business sedan – the car will be available as a model year 2021 car.
New “spy” photographs for the first time show prototype tests in Death Valley (US National Reserve).
A rather dense camouflage covers the entire body of a mid-size sedan – well, except that the roof and side skirts are not hidden. Just like the updated Kia Forte sedan (aka Cerato), the next-generation Kia Optima will be very similar to the stylish Kia Stinger fastback. The design emphasizes a smooth roof line and wider proportions. In addition, the novelty will receive an increased wheelbase and width.
The 2021 Kia Optima will be showcasing a host of technologies, and there will also be a bit more interior space. An updated interior design and new materials are expected.
So far, there is no data on what composition of the motor range Kia Optima will receive in 2021 – according to insiders, the sedan will be offered with hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines. True, such versions of the model should appear about a year after the start of sales of ordinary versions of the car.
Kia Optima 2021 model year should debut at the beginning of next year and go on sale immediately after that.
