New Hyundai Solaris will receive a diesel engineFebruary 14, 2020
Hyundai Corporation continues to upgrade its own Solaris sedan: after the PRC, a restyled 4-door will appear on the Indian market. And there, the model will surely become diesel.
The new model for India also acquired the name Verna. As for its appearance, because of the masked concepts, there is nothing to say so far (it will most likely resemble a Chinese sedan), however, everything is much more interesting in the engine range.
According to reports, the Indian Solaris will be equipped with at least two power units: an old aspirated engine from the local KIA Seltos for 115 forces and a 1.5 liter diesel engine of similar performance, which, most likely, will also get to it from the local variation of the Seltos cross . Together with a gasoline engine, a 6-speed manual transmission and a variator will function, and with a diesel engine, manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
It is interesting that the modernized Hyundai Solaris received in India the same power plants: 1.4- and 1.6-liter atmospheric gasoline engines with a capacity of 100 and 123 hp. respectively.
The launch dates for the updated 4-door sales in India have not yet been announced – they will probably start in the third or fourth quarter of this year.
In addition, it was previously reported that Hyundai Kia talked about a new platform for the upcoming electric cars. The key role in the future project will be played by the experts of the California startup Canoo.
