New Hyundai Elantra N showed on teasersNovember 10, 2020
The Korean company showed off its updated sports sedan in disguise.
There is no doubt that Hyundai is committed to improving its performance game. The South Korean automaker has released a series of teasers for upcoming N vehicles, including ours for the new Tucson N Line. As for the Elantra N, we’ve seen it before, both in spy photos and in the official Hyundai Elantra N teaser. However, Hyundai’s latest campaign gives us a clearer picture of the compact sports sedan.
Two new teaser images show the Elantra N front and back. The car is still shrouded in camouflage, but we can make out more details, especially at the front. The front end looks noticeably different than the standard Elantra and the improved Elantra N Line. Corner air intakes have increased in size, and the front itself is slightly lower.
At the rear, there will be a large spoiler that we saw in spy shots, as well as prominent twin exhaust pipes in the new rear bumper. As far as performance is concerned, the company hasn’t released any specs at the moment.
The Elantra N is expected to be powered by a 275-horsepower version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Gear shifting should be done with either an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission from the Veloster N or a solid six-speed manual transmission. Power will only go to the front wheels.
The South Korean brand is likely to officially unveil its charged sedan next year, but as the teaser campaign picks up steam, it is possible that we will see an official announcement before the end of 2020.
