New Genesis G80 spotted at the NurburgringJanuary 1, 2020
It is not surprising that a car of this size looks “off the beaten track” on the racetrack.
Genesis continues to keep the G80 a secret, although it is obvious that much of its design will be inspired by the larger G90. With this in mind, in the video below, you can consider the new branded triangular radiator grille, as well as separate headlights and taillights.
In August, the head of Genesis, Manfred Fitzgerald, said in an interview that the new G80 will debut in September 2019, although the South Korean automaker initially wanted to show off the new product in April, which also did not happen. More recently, information appeared that the G80 2020 model year will be presented early next year.
It is clear that the premiere of the G80 was delayed at least twice due to some delay associated with the 2.5-liter Turbo Theta III engines and 3.5-liter Turbo Lambda III, which the G80 plans to use in some markets. In other markets, including the US, the G80 will most likely be offered with an entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine and a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6.
It is still unknown what changes await the interior of the new G80, but testing the outgoing model, experts agreed that a number of significant modifications are simply necessary in order to catch up with competitors.
