New generation KIA Stinger caught by photo spies in South KoreaDecember 12, 2019
Disputes about what fate awaits the KIA Stinger sports liftback are ongoing. Some are waiting for the second generation of the model, while others rely only on restyling. In any case, the model will be updated very soon.
In South Korea, photo spies managed to photograph the updated KIA Stinger. Pictures of the next-generation sports liftback were published by thekoreancarblog.com. The quality of the images makes it difficult to see in detail the appearance of the new items, however, individual design changes are still visible. Recall that the Korean brand recently introduced Stinger 2020, as well as a version of the GT-Line for the US market. New items are only $ 100 more expensive than the outgoing liftback in the basic version. The conveyor life of KIA Stinger has already reached the mark of three years, which means that the brand needs to restart the design of its model.
Recent reports indicate that Stinger with an updated appearance will be shown in July 2020. Such an increase will not be superfluous, since the model’s sales are falling: this year they “sank” to 10,057 units. Last year, brand dealers handed over 15,517 cars to customers.
There is little information about the technical stuffing of the updated Stinger. And all of it so far is based on monitoring the current brand models and expert assumptions. Thus, gasoline and diesel engines, working in conjunction with high-tech Drive Wise driver aides, can enter the motor range of the new Stinger. The same 3.3 Twin-turbo is now coming out with new features: headlight adjustment by turning the steering wheel or the new driver airbag control system with switching to sport mode. Also for the gasoline 2.0 Turbo and diesel 2.2 Platinum, the interior of the Dark Red Pack is now available. Prior to this, only the models with 3.3 Turbo Gasoline GT tried on such a design solution.
