New generation Kia Sportage spotted during testsAugust 24, 2020
The Korean profile publication has published a series of images of the fifth generation of the Kia Sportage crossover, which was photographed in a parking lot next to Ssangyong Korando in South Korea.
The next generation Sportage is a highly anticipated model. We already saw the Tucson testing, but we were waiting for the Sportage due to the fact that it was included in the schedule of the Kia product plan for 2020 and all the models announced on it have already been released (Bongo 3 EV, Sorento & Sorento HEV or Sedona -Carnival).
A few days ago, photos of an SUV appeared, but doubts remained that we had a new generation Sportage. But now more pictures have been published we see a prototype of the new Sportage.
This Sportage prototype is at an early stage of development as it has stock headlights and taillights. Regardless, the sales car was expected to be more like a small Sorento, but it looks like Kia will introduce a new design language with the new Sportage because it looks completely different.
Despite the high level of camouflage, we can see that the design doesn’t even come close to any current Kia model, so we can expect a new concept car soon that can showcase a new design, as Hyundai did with the Vision T and All- New Tucson.
Inside, we can see some of the latest models, such as door patterns similar to Sorento or Carnival. The new Sportage has undergone a delay in line with the production plan, as with the Tucson (which was first spotted in July 2019 and will be released in August 2020). But the new Sportage is expected to arrive soon.
