New generation BMW M3 sedan spotted on testsAugust 28, 2020
Photographers captured the next generation of the high-performance BMW M3 sedan. The prototype was partially disguised. The debut of new items will take place next month.
The updated BMW M3 sedan (as well as the “charged” M4 coupe) will debut on September 23, but the German brand continues to test prototypes of the novelty, the body of which is rather heavily disguised. However, these shots offer a closer look at the upcoming sports sedan.
The M3 and M4 share a similar front end, which includes a huge false radiator grille, made in the form of proprietary “nostrils” and rather large air vents in the lower corners of the front bumper, which provide some balance to the updated front of the car.
Those who have taken the photographs we publish today are quite confident that this car is the more powerful M3 Competition, and the exciting wheel styling is one of the proofs that this is a hotter version of the model. They have a complex knitting design reminiscent of the shapes seen in spider webs.
There is a tiny spoiler on the trunk lid. Two sets of twin tailpipes extend from the rear bumper diffuser.
We already know that the new M3 and M4 use a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbo engine. The standard version of the new products produces 473 horsepower, and buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. The Competition version increases the engine power to 503 hp. and only offers an automatic transmission.
After their September debut, expect the new M3 and M4 to be available for sale in early 2021. BMW is currently developing the M3 Touring station wagon, but indicates it won’t be production ready in about two years.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the “charged” BMW M3 station wagon was first brought to the road. A division of the German brand BMW M on Instagram on Wednesday, August 26, distributed a video in which the “charged” M3 Touring station wagon was first noticed on the road.
