New from Harley-Davidson – touring Electra Glide StandardMarch 4, 2019
When creating a new model, the manufacturer focused on minimalism in order to satisfy the needs of fans who prefer the classic Electra Glide. Therefore, it is equipped with Batwing fairings, side trunks and aluminum alloy wheels.
“Chrome-plated parts like transmission covers and the timing mechanism emphasize the V-shape of the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine. In addition, these components add nostalgic notes to the design of the motorcycle, leading from the very first Electra Glide,” says the company’s vice-president of style and designed by brad richards.
Particular attention should be paid to the engine itself, which is distinguished by an elegant, more modern style, but in which the influence of the classic Harley-Davidson Big Twin units is also felt. At the same time, it is powerful enough for overtaking and has an excellent response to the rotation of the accelerator handle.
As for the equipment, this time the manufacturer decided to abandon the multimedia system so that nothing distracts the driver from the “pure sense of the road and the maximum concentration of the driver on driving a motorcycle.” From what is: in the basic version, the Electra received an electronic cruise control, in the standard version it was equipped with manually adjustable emulsion rear shock absorbers, a 49-mm Dual Bending Valve plug and a Reflex Linked Brembo Brakes ABS brake system. The model is available in color Vivid Black.
Earlier, Honda celebrated the 50th anniversary of the CB750 Four. The only one of its kind is the CB1000R Tribute. He received a livery, made in the spirit of the legendary model.
