The American concern Ford has decided to completely declassify the updated off-road pickup Ranger. Moreover, not only photographs were shown, but also technical specifications were disclosed. The cost will start from 24 300 dollars.
The new version of the Ford Ranger 2019 model year will be on the market very soon. And now the company decided not to keep the model and its characteristics in secret, fully revealing it on the web. According to official statements, the novelty will become not only the most pickup truck in its class, but will also be able to tow the most weight.
“Think of the new 2018 Ford Ranger as the biggest backpack for your equipment,” – said Rick Bolt, chief engineer of Ranger, “The maximum carrying capacity will be almost 850 kg, which will help to overcome all your extreme journeys.”
Already in the basic configuration, the truck will receive a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo engine capable of developing up to 270 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. This engine has the highest torque among gasoline engines in the mid-size pickup segment. And even surpasses some competitors with V6 engines.
Together with the engine will work an exclusive ten-speed automatic transmission capable of withstanding heavy loads. The maximum towing weight of the trailer will be 3,400 kg, but only if there is a special package of options, as well as the trailer brake controller.
The novelty will be on sale before the end of this year, but only in the North American market. The cost for the basic package will be about $ 24,300, excluding the tax charge of $ 1,095.
For the flagship version will have to pay from 32,200 dollars. This version will include a chrome package of options with a new grille, full LED optics, dual-zone climate control, door handles to match the body color, original light-alloy wheels, a modern infotainment system SYNC3 with an 8-inch display, and heated front seats.
Meanwhile, Ford is preparing to debut its new SUV, created specifically for the Chinese market. For the model that the US automaker developed in conjunction with the Chinese company Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), the name Territory was revived.
