New Ford Mustang Mach 1 seen on testsJune 5, 2020
The company is trying to hide the new design of the Mach 1 grille.
Just a few days after Ford officially confirmed the Mustang Mach 1 would return, we have a new batch of spy shots showing a high-performance model on the road near the brand’s product development center. The model arrives in the 2021 model year.
Ford hides the grille and corners of the front panel on this car, but these areas are exhibited on the car with official photos of the automaker. The design has large round inlets on each side of the grill.
On the profile, this Mach 1 demonstrates a complex pattern of wheel spokes. One strange aspect is that the front calipers are black, but the rear is red. The announced car in the images wore Brembo brakes. The spoiler also clearly visible rear spoiler.
At the back there is a pair of twin tailpipes of a large diameter exhaust system extending from each side of the rear bumper. Trapezoidal elements on the part also add aggression.
In addition, the photo shows the slon news. The interior still bears the Bullitt badge in the center of the steering wheel and has a white gearshift mechanism of this model. This is suitable for earlier spy shots showing that Ford uses Bullitt as a test mule for the development of Mach 1.
The company claims that Mach 1 uses a 5.0-liter V8, whose performance will be over 480 horsepower. Transmission options are still a mystery, but the manual for this vehicle may indicate the presence of a three-pedal installation.
At the moment, it is known that Mach 1 will appear in as a 2021 model. Thus, sales of new items should start by the middle of next year. However, the start of the advertising campaign suggests that a full debut may take place in the coming months, because the company will not want to delay the opening for too long.
