New Ford F-150 Raptor gets an exclusive colorSeptember 21, 2020
The American pickup Ford F-150 Raptor awaits a lot.
The Ford F-150 is on sale and is poised to take its place in the full-size truck segment, likely retaining its trade crown this 2020. We know for sure that the American company will begin shipping the 14th generation F-150 by the end of the year, but there is one important detail that remains to be revealed – the Ford Raptor.
This does not mean that there is little information available at the moment. In fact, a new report has surfaced that says the 2021 Raptor will have a new exclusive color called ‘Code Orange’.
The dealer directory photo, discovered by NBNEWCAR user on F150gen14 forum, showed the new Code Orange tagged for the Raptor. The original poster stated that this was not the case on any other F-150 models. But there is one catch – the photo you can see here and here was tagged as 2021.
While Ford has confirmed that the next-generation Ford Raptor will launch in the 2021 model year, we have yet to see statements from the company. The new color can only be used for a carryover or refurbished model, or for the next generation model we’ve all been waiting for. But one thing is for sure: there will be the next Raptor, and we’ve seen some spy shots of it testing on the road.
As always, take this with a healthy dose of skepticism, although we wouldn’t be surprised if Code Orange appears shortly after Raptor launches. Another thing we’re looking at is the powertrain set for the next Raptor, which, as previously reported, will consist of two units: a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 and a hybrid 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6.
