New Ford Bronco can get a removable fabric roofApril 1, 2019
Judging by the published patent images, the revived Ford Bronco SUV can get a removable roof, which will consist of two layers – a grid and a layer of durable fabric.
Last week, it became known that the American Ford brand filed a patent on removable doors and removable protective sides, which are installed instead of doors. Foreign insiders report that these doors are connected to the revived Bronco SUV. On the provided drawings, a 2-door vehicle is depicted, which is quite similar to the Bronco II SUV – this is more than a strong hint that a revived version of the model will receive removable doors.
Well, new patent images that were published a couple of minutes ago, suggest that the same car can get a removable fabric roof.
These drawings show that the new Bronco may have a removable fabric cover that is used after removing the hardtop. This roof will have two layers – one layer of mesh and one layer of fabric.
But wait, that’s not all. In one of the images shown, the fabric roof is folded back and fixed in this position. This means that the fabric cover can be turned into an awning, which is very suitable for recreation, fishing.
Of course, this new patent, just like the previous one with removable doors, does not mean that the guys from Ford are going to actually supplement the list of equipment of their crossovers and SUVs with these new features. But, again, this is a great opportunity for Ford to expand the list of features of the new Bronco as a direct competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, and give customers more reasons to visit the blue oval dealerships than Jeep.
