The premiere of the new electric car Lucid Air will be organized on September 9th. In the meantime, the manufacturer talks about the future debutant.
So, already the first electric sedans will receive an advanced set of DreamDrive driving assistants, which has 19 useful functions at once. Over time, another 8 will be added to their list: car owners will be able to “upgrade” the system by updating “over the air”. This was announced yesterday by the portal Carscoops.
The Lucid Air system, consisting of 32 sensors, is responsible for safety. These included various kinds of radars and cameras, as well as ultrasonic sensors and long-range high-resolution lidar. The latter controls the situation in front of the car.
Also, the novelty will get a system that monitors the driver’s well-being. This feature is essential when using autopilot. Let us remind you that the electric sedan will get onto the conveyor with the second level autopilot. The third will appear after the approval of the authorities.
A new facility in Arizona will be engaged in the production of new items.
Top-end Lucid Air will boast enviable technical characteristics. So, its output will exceed the 1000 horsepower mark, and the electric car will be able to accelerate up to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. The capacity of the batteries declared for the electric car is 100 and 130 kW ∙ h. Lucid Air will travel over 640 kilometers without recharging.
Meanwhile, BMW has revealed its secret electric crossover. The announced novelty may enter the series already in 2021. In the meantime, the mysterious “green” SUV is known under the name iNext. Test prototypes are currently being produced.
