New data on the powerful Ram Rebel TRX pickup?March 10, 2020
The long-awaited American novelty will receive 700+ hp. and an 8-speed automatic transmission. So far, there is no data on when the automaker can present the long-awaited high-performance pickup.
Ten years ago, Ford introduced the F-150 Raptor high-performance pickup truck. This car was fully prepared for serious off-road. Six years later, Ram plans to introduce a direct competitor to this car – the car was introduced by the Rebel TRX concept. However, only last year, the Italian-American concern Fiat Chrysler Automobiles finally confirmed that the concept of a powerful TRX pickup will still be put into production.
Test prototypes of a high-performance truck have been repeatedly noticed by journalists. Well, over the past few days a “ton” of new information has leaked, which gives us a better understanding of what to expect from the new product.
While the TRX concept debuted with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 575 horsepower, it is rumored that the production version of the TRX will develop more than 700 hp. Insiders reported that the serial TRX will receive all 707 hp. The engine will operate with an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF.
The appearance of the pickup must be consistent with the concept, including flared wings and hood vents. The production version of the truck will look like a bright yellow pickup, which can be found on the poster for the Drive for Design competition from FCA.
Inside, there will be a large 12-inch screen infotainment system. There should be many other updates, such as better materials, Rebel TRX nameplates and much more.
