New crossover Toyota TJ Cruiser is preparing to enter the marketAugust 22, 2019
The novelty was based on the prototype TJ Cruiser, which debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017.
Toyota will soon launch a new production crossover based on the TJ Cruiser concept. This was reported on the eve of the Japanese media. In the name of the model, according to marketers, a deep meaning is hidden. So, the letter “T” is the first letter of the word “Toolbox”, and “J” is the abbreviation for “Joy”. The concept was based on the TNGA platform. In length, the novelty reaches a mark of 4,300 mm, its width is 1,755 mm, its height is 1,620 mm, its wheelbase is 2,750 mm. At the same time, the Toyota TJ Cruiser boasts good off-road inclinations.
The car interior is designed for four seats, and for the convenience of passengers there are sliding doors. If necessary, the car owner can change the configuration of the cabin, for example, lowering the seats. This will help increase the space for transporting goods.
A massive cross-country body kit made of plastic and spectacular wheel arch extensions also rely on such a cross-wagon. But the manufacturer provided the roof, hood and trunk door with a special coating that reliably protects from scratches.
The conceptual Toyota Tj Cruiser was driven by a hybrid, which included a two-liter gasoline engine and an electric engine. What power plant will receive a serial car, not yet reported. Japanese dealers will present the novelty in mid-November, and the first commercial vehicles will be available at the beginning of next year.
