New crossover KIA Sonet launched into productionSeptember 6, 2020
Already at the stage of the concept car, the car aroused great public interest. The model should go global and be sold in many markets.
KIA has begun production of the new Sonet crossover. This was announced on Sunday, September 6, by the New Cars portal. Production has been established at the brand’s Indian plant, and the first serial samples have already rolled off the assembly line. Recall that the novelty will go on sale on September 18 this year. From a technical point of view, the new cross is a lot like the compact Hyundai Venue – they share a common platform.
The engine range will consist of 3 power units – the base will be a 1.2-liter engine with 83 hp. Buyers will also be able to look forward to a 1.0-liter turbo engine capable of producing 120 hp and a 1.5-liter diesel power unit with 100 hp. In this configuration, 2 airbags, standard audio preparation, air conditioning, ABS and stabilization system will be available.
But the maximum configuration will receive a very rich set of options – we single out a multimedia complex with a 10.25-inch screen, a digital dashboard, a premium speaker system, improved interior cleaning, atmospheric lighting and a sunroof.
Meanwhile, the United States is planning a recall campaign for 591,000 Hyundai and KIA vehicles. The largest number of recalled cars will fall on the KIA Optima. Due to the severity of the problem, the owners are asked not to delay the visit to the service center.
