New crossover KIA Sonet caused a stir at the start of salesOctober 4, 2020
The release of an inexpensive car with a bright appearance and rich technology was very much anticipated in the Indian car market.
KIA recently launched its new budget crossover Sonet, which arrived at dealerships on September 18. At the start of sales, the novelty caused a stir among buyers. In the first 12 days, dealers were able to sell 9,266 of these cars. The KIA Sonet was originally developed for the Indian car market, therefore, to facilitate tax payments, it turned out to be very compact – 3995x1790x1647 mm with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.
The engine range turned out to be quite wide for a budget car. The most inexpensive versions are equipped with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine with 83 hp. Buyers will also be able to choose from a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 120 hp. and a 1.5-liter 100-horsepower diesel power unit.
Depending on the configuration, a manual transmission, a classic automatic transmission or a new manual transmission with an automatic clutch is used as a transmission.
The equipment of the maximum version can surprise – here are the infotainment complex with a 10.25-inch screen, digital instrument cluster, premium Bose sound system, wireless charging for smartphones, climate control and 6 airbags.
