New crossover Audi RS Q3 caught on testsNovember 22, 2018
Audi began to experience a new generation of “charged” crossover RS Q3, which is made on the basis of the latest version of the model. Engineers are already running around the novelty.
Earlier in 2018, or more precisely, in July 2018, Audi introduced a new generation of the compact Q3 crossover. It was confirmed that the model will receive a “charged” modification and in the Audi Sport division they are already actively working on this car – photo spies found RS Q3 prototypes in Southern Europe.
Despite the camouflage, the RS-version can be identified by the oval exhaust pipes, which are the hallmark of Audi Sport models. Among other things, a new aerodynamic body kit with more aggressive bumpers than the simple Q3 is visible.
It is noteworthy that the RS Q3 prototype has an unusual grille pattern, which does not resemble anything from the serial RS-models, and even the RS Q8 prototype has a different grille. It is possible that Audi has a desire to make a distinctive feature of the modifications Audi Sport is also a new grille.
Information about the technical characteristics of the model yet, but most likely we are talking about a 2.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of at least 400 hp A similar unit is already installed on the Audi RS3 hatchback and the Audi TT RS coupe / convertible.
It is worth noting that the premiere of the Audi RS Q3 will have to wait. Obviously, the Audi SQ3 will be the first to enter the market – with a power of about 300 hp. – which should be shown in the spring of 2019 in Geneva. Well, RS Q3 debuts either at the end of 2019, or at the beginning of 2020.
