New cross-joint brand Nissan and DongfengJuly 10, 2018
Sketches and photos from crossover tests were distributed by the Chinese media. Judging by the pictures, the new Venucia novelty will differ substantially from all other models of the brand. In particular, the SUV will have vertical LED daytime running lights. Neither the technical characteristics nor even the name of the SUV have yet been disclosed. It is only known that the cross will enter the market in the fourth quarter of this year.
Let’s remind, Venucia is a joint project of Nissan and Dongfeng, the brand was created in 2010 especially for China. At first under this stamp the old Nissans were re-manufactured, later there appeared independent models, in the basis of which platform from the Japanese of previous generations still lay.
Today in the line of Venucia two crossover – T70 and a coupe-like T90, both are based on the first-generation Nissan Qashqai platform with a rear multi-lever. Probably, the new SUV is also built on the platform of a Japanese company, but which one – there is no data yet.
T70 have two versions – the standard and off-road, the latter is characterized by the presence of an unpainted body kit. The length of the usual Venucia T70 is 4,630 mm, width – 1,845 mm, for the “off-road” version these figures are 4,614 and 1,786 mm respectively. The height and wheelbase are the same – 1,653 and 2,630 mm. Both versions are available with 2.0 atmospherics (144 hp, 198 Nm) and 1.4 turbocharger (140 hp, 196 Nm), the first engine is combined with a variator, the second is paired with manual transmission. For the standard T70, there is still an atmospheric 1.6 (121 hp, 154 Nm, 5-speed manual transmission).
The dimensions of the Venucia T90 cross-coupe are the following: 4 793/1 865/1 592 mm, wheelbase – 2,765 mm. This SUV is also equipped with motors 1.4T and 2.0, the transmissions are the same as the T70. Both crossover Venucia are offered only with front-wheel drive, so that the future SUV will probably have only a 4×2 version – all-wheel drive models in China are not in demand.
Price T70 – from 89,800 yuan. Coupe T90 will cost a minimum of 109,800 yuan. T70 diverges better: in 2017, in the China, 54,153 such cars were sold against 46,221 copies of the T90 sold.
