New compact electric crossover Tesla Model Y officially revealedMarch 15, 2019
An official presentation of the new crossover from Tesla took place. The model was presented by Elon Mask himself, and promised the cost of a car from $ 47,000 in 2019 and the basic version for $ 39,000 in 2020.
More recently, Tesla had virtually no competitors. However, in the modern market, competition among electric cars is gradually heating up, and the new model of the compact and more affordable crossover Model Y will try to grab a fairly large market share. The car will be built on the basis of Tesla Model 3 with already proven production and operation technologies.
It is assumed that the crossover may become even more popular Model 3, because this segment is “killing” sedans, not only in America, but throughout the world. So far, Tesla’s only offer in this segment has been the X model, and although it is very fast, it is also very expensive. This is changing now, and, frankly, the importance of Model Y to Tesla cannot be overestimated.
While there are no exact technical characteristics, the debut just took place, and judging by the first photos, the market has received a worthy competitor. It is assumed that the Tesla Model Y will receive three rows of seats, a range of up to 450 km, and the ability to accelerate to 100 kmh in 3.5 seconds.
Prices for the Standard Range will start at $ 39,000, but so far they will not be on sale. Long Range, AWD and Performance models will be available this fall starting at $ 51,000.
