New compact crossover Baojun RS-3 launched into mass productionSeptember 20, 2019
GM and the Chinese auto giant SAIC have begun mass assembly of the new Baojun RS-3 compact cross, whose appearance is distinguished by the original corporate identity.
The new compact crossover Baojun RS-3 from GM and SAIC finally got to the conveyor. The novelty gets a dimensional radiator grill, which looks very organically with narrow and elongated optics. But the back of the new SUV is made in the spirit of the cross-section Baojun RM-5. It is known that the novelty shares the platform with the bestseller of the Chinese brand – the Baojun 510 subcompact crossover. The dimensions of these two SUVs are almost the same: length – 4,300 mm, width – 1,750 mm, height – 1,625 mm, wheelbase – 2,550 mm.
As a motor, customers can choose a one and a half liter 105-horsepower aspirated or a 1.2-liter 131-horsepower turbo engine. A pair of them is 5MKPP or a variator, but all-wheel drive is not supposed to be a new crossover.
Debut Baojun RS-3 promise to organize in the very near future. Sales are scheduled for October 2019. The manufacturer has not yet distributed prices. Experts suggest that the new SUV will be more expensive than the “donor” Baojun 510. Recall that for this cross in Chinese car dealerships, you will have to pay from 59,800 yuan
