New Chinese battery-powered crossover is preparing for debutDecember 17, 2019
At the end of the year, the Hycan brand will show its first model, which is already open for pre-order.
Hycan, founded by the Chinese GAC and NIO, has announced the premiere date of its first mass-produced electric crossover. The novelty will debut on December 27, 2019 and will go on sale in the CRC at the beginning of 2020.
Hycan began accepting crossover orders long before its official debut in October. Moreover, buyers are invited to buy the car “blindly”, since there has not been and still is no information about the electric car, including the power plant and battery capacity.
At the stage of receiving applications, it was only reported that the wheelbase of the model is 2900 millimeters, and the cruising range is 650 kilometers on the NEDC cycle. For the crossover, LED optics and a richer set of equipment are provided than, for example, with the GAC Motor models.
A conceptual prototype of the future production crossover was shown this summer. The show car received retractable door handles in the style of Jaguar cars and an “soaring” touch display of an unusual L-shaped. Then the company explained that the name Hycan is derived from “here you can”.
