New Chevrolet Monza sedan did not get more optionsJanuary 17, 2019
The novelty under the revived name was originally conceived as a budget alternative to the Chevrolet Cruze. The first meeting of the world community with Monza took place at the November motor show in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.
Until today, we could only judge about the Chevrolet Monza sedan only by spy (and not only) photographs that regularly appeared on the Web. Now, General Motors concern has also started talking about its new product. The available alternative to the Chevrolet Cruze will join the models of the C + class, while the sedan will get a poor list of options and a relatively simple technical “stuffing”. In this regard, Chevrolet Monza is similar to the Chinese Buick Excelle GT 2015 sedan model.
The length of the Monza will be slightly shorter than the Chevrolet Cruze (4 630 mm versus 4 666 mm), the difference in the wheelbase (2 640 mm vs 2 700 mm) is even more noticeable, but in width these two models are almost identical (in Monza it reaches marks 1 798 mm).
It is known that in addition to the classic version of the car, customers will be offered two “sports” versions – Red Line and RS.
Car interior turned out simple and functional. The interior housed a modern multimedia with an eight-inch touch screen. Monza also gets air conditioning, which replaced the climate control, and single-stage heated seats. Top configuration can boast of “leather” seats and sunroof. Such “details” are very popular among Chinese motorists.
In the arsenal of new items appear two petrol turbo engines: the “junior” with a capacity of 125 hp is combined with a manual transmission, the engine is more powerful (1.3 liters, 163 hp) gets a pair of automatic transmission in six stages. Sales of Chevrolet Monza in the Chinese market will start next spring. According to experts, over time, the geography of sales of new items can be expanded.
