New brutal Haval: now on branded teasers. And this is not H5

The Chinese-owned Great Wall brand continues to gradually declassify its new model. Two engines are designed for the crossover; it will enter the home market this year.

This Haval car more than once fell into the lenses of cameras of photo spies, but the brand itself officially announced the new product just a couple of days ago – then the model was lit on sketches. Now the teasers are published, at the same time Haval dispelled rumors that the car will be positioned as the next generation H5: the pictures posted on the local Weibo social network have an inscription that can be translated from Chinese as “I’m not H5”, the same tag accompanies posts brand (we took unsigned teasers from the SUV promo website).

Thus, the model will open a new series of Haval. But how they will be called (the car itself and the lineup) is still unknown. The SUV itself is so far indicated by the in-plant index B06. Recall today Haval has two full-fledged lines – H and F. There is also a “renegade” M6 (built on the basis of the first generation H6).

According to preliminary data, the appearance of the “five-door” was developed under the leadership of Phil Simmons, who has been the chief designer of the Chinese brand since 2018 (he previously worked at Land Rover and Ford). The model has a deliberately rough exterior design, while it received round LED headlights, and the taillights were made L-shaped. The brand didn’t show it, but we already saw it in spy shots, inside there was a virtual dashboard with a “visor” (its purpose is still a mystery), a multimedia system with a touchscreen rounded on one side, vertical blocks of airflow deflectors and a washer instead of the traditional lever boxes.

Chinese media write that the Haval B06 is built on a new platform, but not a word about the frame yet. But the first predictions about engines appeared: some specialized media believe that SUVs will be offered with gasoline “turbo fours” 1.5 and 2.0 (power is not specified) and a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. There will be four-wheel drive.

Very soon, Haval will post the next batch of branded images of the new product, well, and the start of sales in China is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. Later, the SUV will probably get to other countries.

As for the current H5, this frame SUV has been in operation since 2005, it began its market career as the Great Wall Hover, then it was launched under the Haval brand. It is possible that this model will still linger in the line of the brand.
