New BMW M4 convertible spotted at the NurburgringOctober 24, 2020
Carscoops released spy shots of a prototype BMW M4 convertible with almost no camouflage, which was tested at the Nürburgring.
Judging by the photo, the front part of the convertible repeats the M3 sedan and M4 coupe with the same “nostrils”. Although the lower part of the stern is covered with camouflage tape, it is already known that it will be the same as the M4. Along with this, you can see that the concept has production wheels and a fabric soft top.
The presence of a fabric roof over the passenger compartment should result in significant weight savings. The novelty, in particular, will be equipped with a stiffer suspension, rebuilt steering and larger brakes. As for the engine of the convertible, it will receive a 3.0-liter inline engine with twin turbocharging. As a transmission, they will offer a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The standard M4 convertible will produce 473 hp, while in the Competition version this figure will increase to 503 hp. The drive is rear by default, while in the Competition version it is full. Speaking about the date of the premiere of the novelty, it is expected that it will debut before the end of this year. Sales will begin in the first half of 2021.
In addition, it was recently noted that the BMW M4 Competition has acquired a special limited version. It should be emphasized that this special limited edition will only run in 150 pieces. It should be said that the acceptance of orders has already started.
