New BMW i8 Roadster in the tuning AC SchnitzerAugust 1, 2018
A year ago at the Geneva auto show AC Schnitzer presented a unique version of the BMW i8 in its own design. Then, at the stand of the German workshop, the hybrid sports car was adorned with a new tuning kit, which many remembered with its aggressive design. And the other day AC Schnitzer presented a new version of this kit for the recently released model i8 Roadster. Masters did not deviate from their original course, making the Roadster design more sporty.
Although many elements were borrowed from the compartment version of the i8, the convertible definitely deserves special attention. To begin with, the car acquired a custom set of springs, which understated the car’s landing by about 20-25 mm. Further, AC Schnitzer installed a new radiator grille and branded 160 mm emblems on the sides. In the interior of the i8 Roadster there are new pedals, panels and footboards from aluminum, as well as velor carpets.
Outside, the car got a carbon fiber kit: the front spoiler elements, the central front spoiler, side flaps, new air intakes, side mirrors and the rear wing, really affecting the downforce of the roadster. Finally, the masters completed the kit with their custom set of AC1 drives with dimensions of 21 inches.
