New BMW i4 electric car caught on the roadsMay 1, 2019
BMW has already shown spy photos of its electric i4, but these were pictures from the test site and only outside. And now photospies were able to photograph prototypes on public roads and look into the interior of the novelty.
In general, the design of the electric sedan, which will go into production in 2021, is made in the spirit of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, but all of these differ in the design of the body in the corporate style of German electric cars.
As for the interior, the test prototype of the BMW i4 fully borrowed the interior from the latest-generation BMW models, including the digital instrument panel and the multimedia system screen. Another thing is that in the car they do not work and the main role is played by the auxiliary display.
The basis of the BMW i4 will form the CLAR platform, for the electric car will offer several options for batteries (60 or 80 kW / h), versions with one or two electric motors. At the same time, the power reserve will be about 480 kilometers in the top battery version.
In addition to the BMW i4, other electric vehicles will soon come to the market. In 2020, sales of the BMW iX3 crossover should begin, and in 2021, it is planned to enter the BMW iNext crossover market on a new modular platform and with level 3 autopilot.
