New BMW 4 Series prepares for debutMay 26, 2020
With a small teaser, the Bavarian brand announces one of the world’s largest BMW grilles.
The press release announcing the online premiere of the updated Gran Turismo 5- and 6-Series, scheduled for tomorrow, takes you to BMW’s live streaming page, where we stumbled upon a tiny image of the new 4 Series coupe, which also has a digital debut. The official premiere of the model is scheduled for June 2.
This is actually not the first time that BMW has shown the new 4 Series. A completely new coupe, as well as a convertible and Gran Coupe, have been appearing in various places in “camouflage suits” for about a year now. It is no longer a secret how the front end of a beginner will look, because earlier he appeared on the Internet. This is the same huge grille that now adorns a gloomy photo. It is clearly seen that the two “kidneys”, as it seemed before, are optically connected to each other and cover almost the entire height of the front panel.
It goes without saying that the enhanced version of M Performance with the M440i badge will be the “star of the show”, and the top-end version of the M4 will appear later. There is nothing mysterious in the design of the car, given that at the last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW introduced the new generation 4 Series coupe in the form of the concept of the same name. This intricate lattice pattern is a clear sign that we are dealing with the M Performance model, since the aforementioned M340i and M135i look similar.
In the future, the 4 Series lineup will be supplemented by a convertible, which may appear before the end of the year. In 2021, the updated 4 Series Gran Coupe will be launched, to which the i4 electric brother will join. It is believed that the zero-emissions option is the main thing in the family in terms of power, which means that in the future it will eclipse the M4 Competition with its expected power of 510 hp.
