New Bentley Continental GTC Convertible got tweed roofNovember 26, 2018
The roof of the model unfolds in 19 seconds
The company Bentley introduced the open version of the model of the new generation Continental GT, which received the traditional GTC index. For the first time, it will be possible to order a soft roof for a car in a new color, which the manufacturer calls the modern interpretation of the traditional British tweed.
Compared to its predecessor, the cabriolet was five percent tougher, three percent quieter and slightly lighter, although it still weighs almost two and a half tons – 2,414 kilograms (by comparison, the weight of the new Continental GT coupe reaches 2,244 kilograms). The roof opens and closes in 19 seconds, and these operations can be done at speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour.
The cabriolet is equipped with a twin-turbine W12 six-liter engine that produces 635 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with an eight-speed robotized gearbox with two clutches. From a place up to 100 kilometers per hour, the two-door accelerates in 3.8 seconds – only one tenth of a second longer than the coupe. The maximum speed is the same as coupe – 333 kilometers per hour.
The equipment includes a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch display, a night vision system, a 2200-watt Naim audio complex with 18 speakers, and LED matrix headlights.
In the UK, the cabriolet costs from 175 thousand pounds – 18.4 thousand more than a coupe.
