Aston Martin Vanquish with a change of generations will depart from its predecessors, focused on luxury, to become a representative of the segment of sports supercars.
Aston Martin engineers are busy testing the next generation of the Vanquish sports car, which will be the most difficult and fastest model of the brand in the Grand Tourer class. The British manufacturer intends to release the novelty on the market in September this year. On the eve of the photo spies have spotted a test sample of a novelty on public roads of Great Britain.
Now Vanquish will become a true athlete. Its main competitor will be the 800-horsepower Ferrari 812 Superfast. Under the hood of the new generation will be installed 5.2-liter V12 engine with turbocharging from the luxurious coupe DB11. However, it will not be 600 horsepower, but much more. At that moment, the power level has not yet been disclosed. Recall that the former Vanquish S with a 6-liter V12 engine developed 595 horsepower.
While the new Vanquish is tested on the mule from DB11, as they will have a common platform. However, for the sports Grand Tourer it is significantly modified.
A little later, in 2019, Aston Martin intends to launch its first crossover under the DBX index. By 2021, there will be a mid-engined supercar that will compete with the Ferrari 488 GTB and the McLaren 720S. In 2022, the full-size crossover Lagonda will also be released.
