New 2022 BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe unveiled – bigger and better handlingJune 9, 2021
BMW has unveiled the 2nd Generation 4-Series Gran Coupe ahead of its US auto debut in August.
Compared to the pre-reform model, the new 4-Series Gran Coupe is slightly larger: the car is longer, wider and taller. The wheelbase has also grown. The Germans will offer their American customers two variants of the novelty: the 430i Gran Coupe and the M440i xDrive Gran Coupe.
The first version is equipped with a 4-cylinder turbo engine of two liters with a return of 255 hp. Such a car will accelerate to a hundred in 5.8 seconds.
The M440i xDrive Gran Coupe gets a more efficient engine: a three-liter six-cylinder turbocharged, which works in conjunction with a 48-volt starter-generator. Its power is 382 hp, and up to a hundred such a version can be dispersed in just 4.4 seconds.
The initial version of the M440i includes an M Sport exhaust system. Both options get the Sport Steptronic 8-speed automatic transmission and launch control.
The new 4-Series Gran Coupe will handle better than its predecessor, according to the German automaker.
This is achieved thanks to a lower center of gravity, a weight distribution of almost 50:50, suspension features – stiffer and lighter, special Lift-Related dampers already in the base (they help to cope with large bumps), etc. The Adaptive M suspension is also available with electronic -controlled shock absorbers.
Earlier AutoTimesNews said that Audi presented the A1 Sportback in the maximum version of the Competition 40 TFSI. The novelty is already available on the European market.
