NASCAR UPS racing truck will be auctionedDecember 1, 2019
The fastest truck will be sold at auction on December 4.
UPS Truck and Toyota Racing Development are rarely, if ever, pronounced in the same sentence, and you never expect to see the first equipped with the latter. But in the mid-2000s, UPS created such a beast for its “Truck Race” advertising campaign, and now this truck will be auctioned.
The Dale Jarrett UPS truck was built in 2006 by Mike Ryan in less than three weeks. His team took a 23-foot 1990 P-800 UPS car with a mileage of more than 300,000 miles, completely disassembled it, and then installed a TRD racing engine, a special gearbox, racing suspension, racing sensors and a number of other functions that have no place in a regular truck.
On December 4, this truck will be auctioned by Iron Horse with a minimum bid of $ 1 and a weekly trading period.
UPS originally developed a truck-side ad campaign to support NASCAR sponsorship, but as it gained popularity among fans, the truck appeared on the track, which was a real joke. UPS then shot another commercial with Dale Jarrett, who agreed to take a truck on the highway as part of the All-Star race.
