Named the start of sales of the new Land Rover DefenderApril 23, 2019
A brand new Land Rover Defender is currently in development, but in recent months the car has been removed on various tests in completely different road conditions.
Judging by the latest statement of the head of the company’s communications department Tim Krieger, less than six months are left before the presentation of the Defender, and sales of the model will begin in early 2020.
According to Krieger, the most likely venue for a world debut is the Frankfurt Motor Show, which will take place just in September, but it is possible that Defender can present an online presentation a few days before the auto show.
It is planned that the new product from Land Rover will receive various versions of power plants, including soft and rechargeable hybrids, and even the all-electric version of the SUV may appear due to the fact that it is built on a completely new MLA platform.
With regard to internal combustion engines, the basic version will be equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines, while the hybrid 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine will be installed on top-end modifications of the model.
