Named the safest cars in 2019 according to Euro NCAPJanuary 9, 2020
The European organization Euro NCAP listed its “excellent students” who, according to the results of crash tests, managed to score the highest score.
In total, last year Euro NCAP experts tested 55 cars of various brands, 41 of which were awarded the highest rating of five stars. Among the best experts chose winners in seven major segments. So, in the “supermini” class, the Renault Clio and Audi A1 of the new generation, as well as the compact Ford Puma crossover, were among the safety leaders. Among the “small family cars” the best was the Mercedes-Benz CLA, in the niche of the “big family cars” the first place is shared by the Tesla Model 3 and the BMW 3-Series, scoring the same number of points.
Interestingly, the electric car was better in the work of auxiliary systems, and BMW – in terms of pedestrian safety.
In the segment of “large SUVs”, another Tesla model is in the lead – the Model X electric crossover, which managed to bypass the Seat Tarraco. The same American electrocross was recognized as the safest among electric vehicles and hybrids. Among the “small SUVs” Subaru Forester won a new generation. Two models claimed the “silver” – the Mazda CX-30 and the Volkswagen T-Cross.
