Volvo’s first mass-produced battery electric car, the XC40 Recharge P8, officially went on sale in the UK in the R-Design specification with a starting price of £ 53,155.

The first commercial vehicles will be sent to customers at the beginning of 2021, but it is probably worth waiting for the version with two electric motors, one for each axis, providing a total power of 402 hp. and developing speeds of 100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds.

The unique front grille, made in body color, creates a distinct visual identity in the front of the car, made possible by the fact that the electric car requires less air flow for cooling. The grille also neatly covers sensors for the new Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

The XC40 Recharge embodies everything that customers can expect from the Volvo brand, and more. We are talking about an ultramodern electric power plant with all-wheel drive, the maximum power of which is 408 hp. The battery capacity is capable of providing mileage of more than 400 km. It charges up to 80% in 40 minutes due to fast charging technology.

In addition, the car boasts a new multimedia complex based on Android, which offers customers unprecedented personalization, an increased level of intuitiveness and new built-in Google technologies and services. The Volvo Car Group is the first company to partner with Google to integrate an Android-based infotainment system with the integrated Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store into their cars. The two companies have been development partners over the past few years.

The new system offers the full integration of the Android Automotive OS, Google’s open source Android platform, with real-time updates to services such as Google Maps, Google Assistant and automotive applications created by the global developer community.
