Named the premiere date of the Volkswagen Nivus crossoverApril 25, 2020
In mid-March, the German automaker shared teasers of the new SUV.
German Volkswagen has announced the official debut date of its new Nivus crossover. This model was developed in Brazil, but it will become global. The car will debut on April 29, 2020. The car is based on the MQB A0 platform, which is used for Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Scala.
A feature of the architecture is the inability to use four-wheel drive. Therefore, you do not have to rely on it even as an option. The novelty will receive rich technical equipment – in particular, it will be the first in its segment with an adaptive cruise control system.
Volksqagen Nivus will receive a biofuel modification of the power plant, which can operate on both gasoline and ethanol.
The engine will receive 3 cylinders and a return of 128 horsepower. The motor will work in tandem with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The first market for new items will be Brazil, where sales should begin before the end of spring. By the end of this year, the model should enter other Latin American markets. It will appear in Europe in 2021, where it will compete with the recently introduced Toyota Yaris Cross.
