In October, 285 593 new cars were sold in Germany. The leading position is occupied by German automakers.
Experts from an analytical agency shared data on sales of new cars in Germany in October of this year. Last month, the Germans purchased 285,593 new cars. This indicator exceeded last year’s result by 12.7% over the same period. Experts attribute such a sharp increase to low sales last year, when new car certification rules entered into force in the European Union. According to the results of the first 10 months, the growth of the German car market is 3.4%. Sales for this period amounted to 3,024,751 units. Volkswagen was the best-selling brand in October, with 56,877 copies sold, showing a 39.4% increase. Volkswagen accounts for almost 20% of total sales.
In second place is the Mercedes-Benz with a score of 33,606 units. (+ 5.9%). “Bronze” rating is received by its main competitor BMW, which showed the result of 24,319 cars sold (+ 3.4%).
In fourth place with a slight lag is the American Ford. 22 365 residents of Germany (+ 0.1%) opted for these cars. Audi showed a rapid growth in sales – in October in Germany this car was sold 16,990 times, which is more than twice the figure of October 2018.
