Named the most interesting new auto show in TokyoJanuary 19, 2020
Tokyo Motor Show is often referred to as the Japanese version of SEMA, but it may be even better, as it is open to the public.
It is important that large companies are still present at the exhibition, and they produce an assortment of interesting concepts and serial models.
One of the “stars” of the 2020 auto show was undoubtedly the Toyota GR Yaris with all-wheel drive, a six-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbocharged unit that produces 268 hp. (200 kW / 272 hp) and 273 Nm (370 Nm) of torque. Such an engine allows a three-door hatchback to accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 5.5 seconds.
Subaru introduced Levorg Prototype STI. The stylish station wagon features a sporty and upscale exterior, which makes the current Levorg STI even more memorable.
Honda showed the 2020 Civic Type R. Design changes are relatively minor, but there is an enlarged radiator grille that improves engine cooling. The hot sunroof is also equipped with an Alcantara-covered steering wheel, a new gear knob and a fake noise reduction system.
Naturally, the Tokyo Motor Show also has many tuned cars. One of the most popular cars this year was the Toyota Century, as TOM Racing introduced a sportier and more luxurious version of the sedan.
Individual models are a significant part of the Tokyo Motor Show, and this year did not disappoint, as there was everything here – from the Dodge Challengers to the 1997 Civic Type R restomod.
