Geneva Motor Show is an event held annually in March in Geneva, Switzerland. The event is regularly attracted by many car manufacturers seeking to present their new products, and visitors who want to see them.

In 2020, the event will be held from March 5 to March 15, where everyone will be able to appreciate the new items presented at the auto show. But journalists will be able to see the cars presented at the car dealership, already from March 3. And AutoTimesNews editors will be there and the first to light up all new cars for their readers. But on the eve of an important event, we decided to pick up the most remarkable cars announced by the automakers for the show. Among them will be both serial models and concept cars.

Aiways

The Chinese automaker announced that the world premiere of the U6ion concept will take place at a Swiss event, without revealing anything about the car. At its core, the Aiways U6ion is an electric SUV that is scheduled to launch on the Old Continent in the second quarter of this year, and is expected to cost about 25,000 euros. This would make it much more affordable compared to other machines with zero emissions. Moreover, the model could compete with small hatchbacks, for example Renault Zoe.

Audi

Hot on the heels of the Volkswagen Golf 8 generation, the new fourth-generation Audi A3 will debut. He will receive minor design changes, including a pair of thinner LED headlights and a new grille. It will enter the market only in the form of a five-door Sportback model, and soft hybrid and interchangeable hybrid powertrains will be included in its motor range.

Honda

The Japanese automaker has updated its flagship “charged” hatchback. While cosmetic changes to the model will be minor, in the technical part there will be much more innovations. So, the Civic Type R will receive new shock absorbers, a modified front suspension geometry and a set of fade-resistant brake discs with brakes for heavy duty use.

Hyundai

Hyundai has announced the debut of the new i20, which will be held as part of the Geneva Motor Show in early March this year. The hatchback will be the first car of the brand in the European market, which will use the new Hyundai corporate design language called Sensuous Sportiness, also present in the new Sonata. In fact, the design sketches published earlier demonstrate the sporty i20 with a rather attractive exterior design.

Kia

Kia recently published a teaser for its new mid-size crossover Sorento. Note that the model will debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Judging by the teaser, the novelty will receive a number of stylistic decisions from the successful Telluride.

Be that as it may, it is clear that the Sorento will be more angular than before, and that its so-called “tiger nose” grille will be more pronounced and slightly more square than before. In addition, the car will receive sharper and more aggressive daytime running lights and a spoiler mounted on the trunk lid. It is currently unknown whether this spoiler will be limited to the SX sports trim or will be available on all versions.

Porsche

The Porsche 911 Turbo is the crown of the Porsche line and is expected to debut in Geneva. There is little information about the new product, but engineers said that the car will receive over 600 hp. Turbo performance and 650 hp in the Turbo S version of the all-new 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine.

Renault

Renault has announced the all-electric version of the Twingo city car, which will be released in Europe later this year. The company has not yet officially published data on the electric Twingo Z.E. However, given that Twingo uses the same platform as ForFour Smart EQ, we expect it to get the same 17.6 kWh battery and 80 hp rear electric motor. This engine should enable Twingo Z.E. accelerate from 0 – 100 km per hour in about 12 seconds, the maximum speed is 130 km per hour and the range on the battery is 145 km at full charge.

Skoda

The “charged” version of the most popular Czech liftback will be presented on March 3. The other day, the automaker just published a sketch of the model. Octavia RS iV is unique in that it combines versatility, convenient for family use, and the sporting characteristics of the car, as well as the stability and efficiency of a 245-horsepower power plant.

BMW

The Bavarian automaker has been teasing journalists with a camouflaged i4 for several months now, and it looks like the company will bring a pre-production prototype to the Geneva Motor Show. It is expected that this concept will repeat exactly the production model. As a result, it should be much less extreme than the i Vision Dynamics concept, which debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Although the Geneva auto show will not begin until March, BMW has already published some features of the new i4. In November, the automaker announced that the model will have an electric power plant, which develops power of about 523 hp. This will allow the car to accelerate to 100 km / h in about 4.0 seconds, and the maximum speed can be about 200 km / h.
