Named the main features of the new Mercedes-Benz

It was a really difficult year for Mercedes, as the company expanded its product line and introduced new innovative technologies designed to make life easier on the road.

Such systems include a new MBUX user interface with an internal assistant, E-ACTIVE Body Control, a car wash function, a fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel drive system (as seen on the GLE 2020), a 48-volt system for V8 engines and soon.
MBUX with interior assistant

MBUX stands for Mercedes-Benz User Experience, and unlike the MY19 version, the newer version provides “intuitive, natural controls with varying comfort and features thanks to motion recognition”. This is possible because of the camera in the ceiling console, which records the movements of the hands and arms of the driver and front passenger.

As your hand approaches the touch screen or touch panel on the center console, the infotainment system screen changes to highlight individual elements. Other features include hand gestures and personalized programs.
E-ACTIVE Body Control

This technology is based on a fully networked hydropneumatic active suspension operating on a 48-volt platform and working with the newly developed air suspension. According to the German automaker, this is the only system on the market in which the springs and damping forces can be individually controlled on each wheel.

The result is a suspension setup that can counteract body roll as well as tilting and sagging – really useful on large vehicles like SUVs.
Car wash function

If you happen to buy a brand new Mercedes GLS, you should know that it has few technologies that you can use when washing the car. The washing function will automatically set the suspension to the highest position, fold the mirrors, close the windows and the sunroof, turn off the rain sensor, switch the climate control to air recirculation mode and activate a 360-degree view of the front camera.

When you leave the car wash, these settings will automatically return to normal when you accelerate to 19 km / h.

4MATIC fully variable

The all-wheel drive Mercedes 4MATIC system has been further developed, and since 2020 GLE, it can now change the distribution of torque between the front and rear axles from 0 to 100%, depending on the selected driving mode.
V8 with 48 volt system

During the 2020 model year, Mercedes provided the electrified V8 GLE and GLS transmissions (GLE 580 and GLS 580), consisting of a V8 petrol unit with a 48-volt electrical system and an integrated starter.

The configuration produces 483 hp. (490 hp) and 516 Nm (700 Nm) of torque, while an additional 184 Nm (250 Nm) and 21 hp Available with EQ Boost for short periods of time. The starter generator is also responsible for the operation of hybrid functions such as energy recovery.
Options 35 and 45 AMG

Mercedes-AMG customers can now purchase CLA and A-class models equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo unit with a volume of 4 liters (35) and 302 hp. (306 h.p.). The CLA 45, on the other hand, is equipped with the world’s most powerful serial 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 382 hp. (387 hp) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque.

Cross traffic function

This feature allows the car to brake at speeds typical of maneuvers that are necessary to prevent a possible collision with oncoming traffic. The car will perform braking if the driver signals an intention to turn (using the direction indicators) – stops before the intersection of the markings of the lane.
Exit warning function

This year, cars equipped with the Blind Spot system are also equipped with a new warning function when leaving the car. It works by reducing the risk of collision with other road users after parking the car – for example, it protects against the passage of cyclists.

The system monitors the dead zone when the car is standing or standing in the parking lot, and can warn the driver (a visual warning in the mirrors and heard through a combination of instruments) about the approach of vehicles, motorcycles or bicycles when the door is opened. Mercedes will even keep this feature active for three minutes after turning off the engine.
