J.D. Power and Associates, a customer satisfaction research company, has compiled the traditional APEAL rating. Experts studied the most popular car brands across 37 different characteristics to measure the level of emotional attachment of car owners to each of them.

10. Hyundai

Hyundai is ranked tenth most attractive car company. The experts noted that this position is also held by the company’s sub-brands – Genesis and Kia. Top award winning cars in their respective segments: Hyundai Sonata, Veloster, Kia Stinger, Telluride and Genesis G70.

9. Honda

On the ninth line of the list is Honda. The reliability of these models has always attracted customers. Japanese designers are trying to introduce into their cars a more modern and technologically advanced interior, created using premium materials.

8. Nissan

Despite a tough start to the year, Nissan was able to maintain the good graces of its customers. Much of this is due to the new style and more prestigious layout of the interior space of the car.

7. Mazda

Mazda has strengthened its position in the car market in 2020, and this is evident in the APEAL study. In terms of emotional attachment for car owners, Mazda climbed to the highest level since 2019, moving six places forward.

6. Kia

Kia has been ranked sixth in emotional attachment by experts and has contributed to a record number of Hyundai Motor Group awards. The Korean brand ranked # 1 in JD power’s initial quality survey, however, last month.

The increase in size of MINI vehicles may be one of the main reasons for its appeal, as the company now offers motorists space and size along with novelty. The fifth position for a frontier luxury brand reports customer confidence.

4. Ford

Ford is in fourth place. Although experts are surprised that the company did not rank higher when considering that the F-150 is the most popular pickup in North America.

3. GMC

General Motors’ luxury sub-brand is ranked third in the APEAL survey with 857 points, eight places higher than its “sibling” Chevrolet. In an initial quality survey conducted last month, GMC was ranked eighth.

2. Ram

Another popular North American truck manufacturer came in second. Ram also came in third overall in the original quality survey. Note that this is the only brand in the entire ranking that specifically produces trucks and vans, but it surpasses even Ford in terms of emotional attachment.

1. Dodge

Oddly enough, Dodge tops the list. With models like the Charger, Challenger and their Hellcat versions in their lineup, Dodge has established itself as an ambitious brand. It is also the only mainstream brand besides Hyundai to win both APEAL and IQS in the same year.
