Motorcycle racer lost memory after accidentAugust 26, 2019
Collision with an opponent on the first lap of the MotoGP race in the UK led to a short-term memory loss in one of the pilots.
The first lap of the UK Grand Prix of the MotoGP motor racing championship brought a serious accident involving two riders – Yamaha pilot Fabio Cuartararo and Ducati spokesman Andrea Dovizioso.
Due to an opponent’s mistake in front, Quartararo could not keep his motorcycle and fell, and only then Dovizioso crashed into it. Ducati literally soared over Yamaha, after which the motorcycle caught fire, and Andrea was thrown out of the saddle to the side of the track. Immediately after the fall, the rider could not get up and he needed the help of doctors.
According to the results of a medical examination, it was found that Dovitsioso has a memory loss. Fortunately, it turned out to be short-lived, and 20 minutes after the incident the pilot was able to remember everything. Andrea also complained of severe pain in the right thigh, but the examination did not reveal fractures.
The team expects that Andrea Dovitiosio will be able to recover in the near future and will not miss any tests or the next stages of MotoGP.
