MotoGP will be held in Qatar until 2031March 8, 2019
At the pre-season presentation of the championship, Dorna Sports and QMMF reported that the contract to host the Qatar Grand Prix was extended twice.
The current agreement is valid until 2020, but the organizers insured last year and extended it until 2025. Today it became known that this period was increased by another five years, so that in the amount of the contract is 12 years (counting from the season-2019).
For the first time on the race track Losail International Circuit MotoGP Grand Prix held in the autumn of 2004. Four years later, it was decided to carry out motor racing with artificial lighting, which gave the Qatari stage features.
The country is very important to retain the right to hold the championship, writes the publication Motogonki, so its authorities are doing everything possible for this. Now the question is all the more relevant because of the difficult relations with its neighbors, including the United Arab Emirates. So while the desert races will take place as long as possible.
