The next generation Mitsubishi Outlander will “move” to a new platform. For the first time in history, the brand will test the Renault-Nissan chassis on this compact crossover. On the architecture of the new generation of the popular Japanese SUV, said Operations Director Trevor Mann.
It is known that a platform called Common Module Family (CMF-C / D) is meant. Such a platform today can be found on the French compact van Renault Scenic and Espace minivan, which the manufacturer calls the mid-size SUV.
It is planned that the upgraded Outlander will change the engineering architecture only by 2020. The brand does not disclose any details of the upcoming upgrade.
