Off-road pickup is not rarely becomes the basis for numerous special projects or unique series. It is a merit of a successful frame construction, a system of all-wheel drive and an interesting design, and the company itself often presents special versions.
Mitsubishi Motors unveiled at the Bangkok Auto Show a utilitarian version of the Triton pickup (known in Russia as the L200) under the name Absolute. The conceptual version is even more prepared for extreme off-road, and the most noticeable change was the clearance of 270 mm (+50 mm from the standard version). In addition, the model received an extended gauge, increased shock absorbers, “evil” tires, additional protection of the pallet, a plastic body kit, as well as additional light on the roof.
As a power unit, an atmospheric engine of 2.4 liters is proposed, capable of developing up to 128 horsepower, as well as a 2.4-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of up to 180 horses. Of course, the Mitsubishi L200 Absolute is equipped with all-wheel drive system, as well as a mechanical or automatic transmission in six steps.
The company has not yet decided on the serial release. Everything will depend on potential customers, as well as their interest. Of course, the cost is still unknown.
