The Japanese compact Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross crossover is now available with a 2.2-liter 145 hp turbo diesel unit (380 Nm). This version of the car is available only for Japan.
The press service of the Japanese automaker has published data on the new engine for the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross crossover. It turned out to be a turbodiesel unit with a working volume of 2.2 liters and a maximum power of 145 hp. It is reported that this engine, equipped with direct fuel injection, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system. In this configuration, the fuel consumption per 100 km of the track will be 7 liters.
It is noteworthy that the representatives of the Japanese automaker themselves describe the new engine as the “cleanest diesel”.
The engine has received a highly efficient water supply system that has the function of selective catalytic reduction of urea, which reduces exhaust emissions. This effect can be achieved through the destruction / removal of NOx (nitrogen oxide) from the exhaust gases.
According to official data, sales of the compact crossover with a 2.2-liter engine on the Japanese car market are scheduled for June 13 of this year. It will be possible to purchase such a car in several versions, the price of which ranges from 3,062,000 to 3,420,000 yen.
At the moment, the crossover is available on the Russian market with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder powerplant with a maximum power of 150 hp (338 Nm).
