Mitsubishi Diamante made a “real” time machineMarch 26, 2020
Enthusiasts decided to construct a time machine from the Japanese Mitsubishi Diamante. The car really looks like a car from a cult film.
The full-size Mitsubishi Diamante sedan / station wagon, also sold in some markets under the names Magna, Sigma, V3000 and Verada, has never been a particularly attractive car, but this instance, recently filmed by Reddit user, is a special case.
The owner of this Diamante is clearly a big fan of the Back to the Future franchise, because he modified his sedan to mimic the cult DMC DeLorean time machine used by Dr. Emmett L. Brown.
Of course, Diamante has nothing to do with the appeal of a true DeLorean.
In view of the foregoing, we must thank the owner for the work that was aimed at changing the appearance of the car, even if in fact he does not have the ability to travel in time. Take a closer look and you will notice that the machine has the same “OUTATIME” license plate as the original machine.
It is not uncommon for fans of Back to the Future to create their own time-traveling machines, but they usually use the original DeLorean as the basis. One of the most famous cult car replicas is located in the Netherlands and is actually remotely controlled. It has almost all the same internal and external parts as in the film, and it took about 9 months to make it.
