Mini will add two new crossovers to its lineupJune 15, 2020
With the help of new SUVs, the automaker expects to increase its global sales. One of the future car innovations will be comparable in size to the BMW X1.
Mini until 2024 is going to offer customers two new crossovers at once. Such information on Monday, June 15, distributed the publication Autocar. First, the brand will release a five-door electric crossover based on a modern modular platform (the Great Wall engineers will participate in its development) and equipped with new generation batteries.
In size, this electric car will be like a BMW X1. The production of new items will be entrusted to the Mini factory in Chinese Zhangjiang. The launch of the conveyor for this model is scheduled for the 2022nd.
The second SUV planned for the exit will be larger than the electric car and will be equipped with ICE. For the novelty, they have already chosen the name Traveler – it will become the most overall cross among Mini models.
For this crossover, they chose the CLAR “truck” created by BMW specialists. The appearance of this car will have to wait until 2024.
Meanwhile, Seat introduced the updated crossover Seat Ateca. Such a car received a refreshed appearance and wider personalization options.
