MINI has launched a new service MINI Yours Customized, which will allow car brand owners to create personalized decorative elements using 3D printing and laser engraving. With the help of the service, you can select a picture for the door projectors, patterns on the side plates and thresholds, and the center console. The service is available for old and new models of the brand.

The appearance of each element is configured using the online configurator. After that, the data is digitally sent to one of the BMW plants in Germany, where the necessary parts are manufactured within a few weeks. They can be installed independently or from a MINI dealer.

For each of the elements is available several variants of patterns, colors and a set of icons, divided into categories. Also, the user can add their own text. The created design can be shared with other users or friends on social networks.

Technologies of 3D-printing have long been actively used in the automotive industry. So, in the spring of 2017, technology was used to create a new engine for the rarest race car Delage Type-S model in 1914. Also laser 3D printing is used by Apollo company when creating a three-section exhaust system of Hypercar Intensa Emozione.
