Mini unveils an exclusive JCW Nightfall EditionSeptember 18, 2020
A new rendition of the British MINI John Cooper Works 3-door hatchback and JCW convertible, which will be available in Australia, is called Nightfall Editions.
Both the hatchback and Mini JCW Cabriolet in the new exclusive version are painted in Enigmatic Black Metallic, while all chrome body surfaces such as headlight covers, door handles have been re-painted in Piano Black. Many other exterior changes have been made, such as the addition of a carbon fiber “bucket” hood, carbon fiber tailpipes, a new sports braking system, 17-inch black rims and model-specific badges.
The interior surfaces of the new Nightfall Edition are painted black. There are also John Cooper Works sports seats in black Dinamica / Leather carbon.
Drivers also get a John Cooper Works Alcantara steering wheel, as well as a JCW carbon fiber handbrake lever and a panoramic hatchback sunroof.
“We have seen the highest John Cooper Works sales in Australia this year and these new Nightfall editions are sure to raise those numbers. We’ve put a huge amount of additional John Cooper Works upgrades into both cars and we expect them to be overwhelming on the road and on the track, ”said Mini Australia and New Zealand general manager Brett Woudby.
Both variants of the British car in the Nightfall Edition are powered by a 2.0-liter JCW turbocharged engine producing 228 hp. and 320 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The hatchback accelerates to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds and the convertible in 6.5 seconds.
In total, 40 copies of the hatchback will be built, and the production of the convertible will be limited to 10 units. The new versions will start at AU $ 70,990 and AU $ 75,290.
